Are you a tea lover and want to show it off? This pin is for you.
The pangolin clay teapot enamel pin is the second wave of the clay teapot pins. Last year, the first yixing teapot enamel pin I designed was a hit. The goal is to shine a light on this beautiful style of teapot.
Yixing clay is an incredibly special material for tea pots. The porosity of the clay makes it perfect to dedicate to one type of tea and as you taste your teas, the pot is also seasoned. If you're interested in reading more about yixing and other types of clay teapots check out this post by my friends at verdant tea!
If you search for clay pots, you will see a variety of shapes as modern demands produce cooler and more unique shapes. After looking around for a while I decided I wanted to do two shapes. This shape is one that tapers at the top, larger bottom with a longer "neck". The decoration for this pot is a simplified pangolin design, an animal that is always in high demand from you all to be featured on a design! For the design I decided to do delicate line work as many clay pots are either without decoration or minimalistic decoration that I wanted to display.
